MNYBAALAS LVT Award

This award honors an exceptional New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician who exemplifies professionalism, compassionate care, and dedication to mentorship while actively promoting education through presentations, posters, workshops, and training sessions.

The award consists of a $250 honorarium, plaque, and announcement in a LAS Professional magazine article.

General Criteria:

1. Self-nomination is accepted.

2.Must be an active member of MNYBAALAS, and attended a minimum of 3 meetings or events.

4. Must possess a valid NYS VT License and have at least three years of experience in research.

5. Previous winners are eligible, provided they have not received this award in the past five years.

Focus Area Criteria:

1. Demonstrates exceptional compassion, respect, and dedication to the care of all species.

2. Exhibits strong mentorship abilities by offering constructive guidance, sharing career development insights, and actively supporting colleagues.

3. Shows a commitment to education through public presentations, posters, research papers, articles, or leading workplace training events, including those at AALAS or local gatherings.

4. Innovates by developing or implementing new techniques or standards that enhance the workplace environment.

Nomination Packet:

1. Nominee’s current resume

2. Digital copy of a valid non expired AALAS Registration and NYS LVT License

3. Minimum of 1 Nomination letter. (Recommend: 1 Nomination and 1 Supporting Letter)

Note: The nomination letter should offer detailed insights into the candidate’s achievements relevant to the focus area criteria, including examples of contributions, distinguished professional accomplishments, and creative work.

Nominees will be notified by October 30th, 2024 and must attend Technician Night on

November 14, 2024, to receive the award.
