Innovation of the Year Award

○ This award focuses on recognizing excellence and contributions in one or more of the following areas

A significant role in implementing and effectively delivering a highly innovative, out-of-box, or cutting-edge idea.
Extraordinary innovation must directly or indirectly impact or continue to impact an area or function critical to their respective area.
Innovation brought fundamental change and/or moved their department forward in the direction(s) to improve the quality of care and/or services to lab animals.
Projects whose goals or outcomes represent an inventive, meaningful addition to the processes required for success within their institution.

○ Award Eligibility

This award is open to any individual within their facility who has shown to be the most innovative, creative, and inspirational in their respective area.
Is an Active member of MNYBAALAS. MNYBAALAS meeting attendance preferred.
Registered at an AALAS Level (ALAT, LAT, LATg)

BioServ Enhancement of Animal Welfare Award

The award focuses on recognizing any individual who has:

Enriched and enhanced the living environment of the animals they worked with
Has positively impacted research or their institutional program
Has displayed the 3 R’s in their plan for enhancement
Has reduced or eliminated distress or created other benefits for the animals they work with

○ Award Eligibility

This award is open to any individual who has shown an exceptional level of Animal welfare enhancement.
Is an Active member of MNYBAALAS. MNYBAALAS meeting attendance preferred.
AALAS Certifications (ALAT, LAT, LATg) are preferred.
