Manager of the Year Award

The award focuses on recognizing a representative of a vendor who has: 

• Demonstrated outstanding performance and embodied professionalism, dedication, and service expertise as a vendor representative. 

○ Award Eligibility 

• This award is open to any individual employed with a Vendor that is an MNYBAALAS member. 
• Is an Active vendor and member of MNYBAALAS. 

The award focuses on recognizing contributions to education and training, including:

• The development of materials for instruction and the ability to engage and inspire independent and critical thinking among trainees 
• The establishment of workshops, conferences, or networks of communication for education and training, such as lectures and seminars. 
• Achievement and leadership in an administration that facilitates education and training 
• Activity in professional organizations that promote excellence. 
• Demonstrated outstanding performance, professionalism, dedication, enthusiasm, and vitality in learning and teaching 

○ Award Eligibility 

• Is an Active member of MNYBAALAS. 
• Must have at least four years of laboratory animal training and education experience, with training and education as a significant part of the job responsibility. 
• Minimum Registered LAT certification (LATg preferred) and/or other advanced educational credentials. 
• Training and Educational mentoring-related activities should involve working with students, interns, residents, facility staff, and investigative staff. 
• Strongly encourage that, at a minimum, one of the training and education activities conducted are at MNYBAALAS events or equivalent educational seminars/workshops/lectures. 
• Strongly encourage training and educational outreach through career fairs, writing articles, poster presentations, professional publications, participation on an MNYBAALAS committee (i.e., public outreach committee), or as an MNYBAALAS officer/council member. 
• Strongly encourage participation in certification development such as proctoring, question development, or program training. 

This award recognizes members who have made a lasting contribution to the field of lab animal science through their 25-plus years of devoted service. The award is meant to encompass long-time service and commitment across their career through various ways of contribution.

○ Award Eligibility 

• This award is open to anyone employed at an MNYBAALAS member institute and has served in the field of lab animal science for more than 25 years.
